Middle school registration deadline

Thursday February 6th is the $5 postmark deadline for Intel NWSE. Projects must be registered online and their signed forms mailed along with a check. Fees increase by $5 every week until the final deadline of February 27th.

Forms are either 1 MSEZ per student & 1 copy of procedures per project OR the ISEF forms 1, 1A, 1B, research plan, and which ever special forms required. Make sure to keep a set of forms for yourself to have during set-up. 

Oregon Junior Science & Humanities Symposium

Registration for the 2014 Oregon Junior Science & Humanities Symposium is now open. This years Symposium is being held at Oregon Episcopal School on Sunday, March 9, 2014 with student presentations beginning at 8:00am in the Drinkward Center for Math, Science & Technology.

Volunteer Registration Open

The Intel Northwest Science Expo is seeking volunteers to help with both middle school and high school fairs. There are a variety of jobs ranging from set-up to display checks. If you have time March 20-21 or April 3-4 please click on the frog to register your preferences.

SSP Student Membership

The Society for Science and the Public has a free student membership giving you free access to Science News and other opportunities. Registration requires an email address and starting next year all high school students will need to have a membership number in order to register for an Intel ISEF affiliated fair. http://societyforscience.org/studentregister 

Location Change for BHSE

The Beaverton Hillsboro Science Expo will now be located at the Intel STEM Center otherwise known as the Capital Center Entry B.

2 credit course for high school students

I am offering a 2 credit course through Portland Community College for $25. This is for high school students who are doing a project for an NWSES fair and also includes volunteering at a science fair. There must be 15 students in order for the course to be activated. If you are interested email me at nwse@pdx.edu expressing your interest by November 22nd.

NWSES welcomes the COCC Regional Science Expo

We are pleased to announce Central Oregon Community College will be hosting a regional fair March 1st for high school students East of the Cascades.
