Thank you Everyone for a Great Science Expo

We will post results in the next couple of days.

Schedules for Intel NWSE

It's almost fair day! Here are the schedules for middle and high school. Middle school events take place in the Peter Stott Center (930 SW Hall, Portland, Oregon 97201) main gym, high school events take place on the third floor of the Smith Memorial Student Union (1825 SW Broadway, Portland, Oregon 97201).

During exhibit set-up the forms for a project must be present for the project to pass display and safety. Forms are either the MS Super EZ and the project procedures OR the Intel ISEF forms which must include Forms 1, 1A, 1B and Research Plan. Other forms are needed for certain types of projects. It is the responsibility of the adult sponsors to make sure parents have copies of all necessary forms if the parents will be setting up the display.

To see what a display and safety check involves see our training video. Here is a direct link to the Display regulations for NWSES fairs

More Judges needed for Intel NWSE

We need more middle school judges in all categories, you do not need a degree to judge middle school. There are also a few high school categories still needing judges. Please spread the word.

Online Registration Error

There was a problem over the weekend with the registration link by the frog for Internet Explorer users only. It should be functional now, however you can always use the direct links under For Judges, For Students or For Adult Sponsors or try viewing the site in Firefox if browsing issues arise. Please let us know if something is not working on the website.

Deadlines for Intel NWSE Middle School projects

Today, February 10th, is the first postmark deadline for Intel NWSE. The fee for projects postmarked by today is $5. This is a per project charge, not per person. The final deadline is March 3rd at which time the registration fee is $20 per project. See registration deadlines for the complete list.

College Credit for your Research Project

Juniors and Seniors have the opportunity to earn 4 college credits from Portland State University for meeting specific benchmarks with their research projects. The instructor of this HS Natural Science Inquiry course is Kate Norton.  Look at the accompanying documents for more information.

Online Registration is open for 2010

The adult sponsor must register first before adding projects.

27th Intel NWSE will be April 2, 2010

If you are starting your project over the summer, high school students need to visit http://www.societyforscience.org/isef/document/ for the 2010 rules and forms.  The human subjects form has huge changes.
