Oregon Junior Science & Humanities Symposium

Calling all science research students!

Oregon Junior Science & Humanities Symposium (JSHS) is a competition that awards scholarships to students interested in STEM and is sponsored by the US Army, Navy, and Air Force. The competition is open to all High School students from the state of Oregon who are US Citizens. The first round of the competition is blind judging of student research summaries. All students who submit a research summary are invited to attend the regional event held at the Evergreen Aviation Museum where 12 semifinalists will compete for scholarships and a chance to attend the National Competition. Online Registration & Summary Submission Deadline - December 10, 2019

Oregon JSHS Event - February 7-8, 2020 at the Evergreen Aviation Museum

Student Scholarship awards – A total $4500, awarded to the Oregon JSHS finalists: 1st place - $2,000, 2nd place - $1,500, 3rd place - $1,000

Student Finalists - Top 5 students go on an all-expenses paid trip to the National Competition at Norfolk, Virginia April 15-18, 2020

Teacher Award - $500 award to honor the teacher for contributions to student research pursuits
