2019-2020 International Optimist Club Essay Contest

The Optimist Essay Contest gives students a chance to express views and to win cash awards at a Club and District level. The Hillsboro/Beaverton Club program offers a first place ($500), second place ($300) and third place ($125) essay awards. The NW Optimist District offers $2500 for first place. You must win the Club first place award to be eligible to compete at District.

This year’s topic is Is Optimism the Key to Achieving the dreams you imagine?. The contest requires a 700-800 typed, properly-formatted essay. Our entrants must be Hillsboro or Beaverton district high school students under the age of 19. Students from other districts should look for their local Optimist Club.
