Neuroscience Presentation

Details for Allen Institute presentation.  Oregon and Idaho invited as well.

For students wishing to do original research in neuroscience using large
data sets,  WSSEF will sponsor a Zoom session Wednesday Sept 29th, @4:00
pm with Dr. Kaitlyn Casimo of the Allen Institute

The Allen Institute is a biological sciences nonprofit located in
Seattle, WA, with focus research areas in neuroscience, cell biology,
and immunology. Their work generates data, knowledge, and analysis
tools, all of which are shared publicly. As of fall 2020, the Allen
Institute for Brain Science has collected about 14 petabytes of data –
that’s 2.8 million DVDs.

the Allen Institute’s resources to help shape your research project. In
advance of the session, please explore the above resources and bring
your questions. This will be a hands-on interactive discussion, driven
primarily by your questions and interests.”

Kaitlyn Casimo, PhD, leads the education and training programs at the
Allen Institute. She received her BA and PhD in neuroscience. She also
conducted her own independent science fair projects in grades 6-11.
