2026 Award Results & Thank you!
The Northwest Science Expo, held Monday, April 6, 2026 at Riverside High School, announces top winners in Oregon’s state-level science research competition affiliated with the Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair and the Thermo Fisher Scientific Junior Innovators Challenge. Thank you to all our many sponsors, judges, volunteers, teachers, students and parents for making it such a great day.
NWSE includes both a middle school and high school division. The two divisions included 413 projects from 64 schools and organizations across the state. Two best of fair winners were chosen from each division.
- Annika Martin, 17, in grade 12 from Wilsonville High School won Best of Fair in the high school division with a project titled, “KITE: Kilonova Intelligent Targeting Engine for Multi-Messenger Forecasting of Neutron Star Merger Transients”.
- Aashi Dixit, 17, in grade 12 from Catlin Gabel School was selected as an Intel ISEF finalist with a project titled, “Integrative Multi-Omic Data Profiling of Pancreatic Ductal Adenocarcinoma for Identification of Ectopic Oncofetal Targets for Combination Therapy”.
- Jeremy Lim, 13, in grade 8 from Summa Stoller won Best of Fair in the middle school division with a project titled, “What Effect Do Different Egg Carton Configurations Have On Impact Force?”.
- Aanya Mehta, 14, in grade 8 from Abiqua Academy won Best of Fair in the middle school division with a project titled, “Can A Functional Prosthetic Arm Be Built Using Simple Materials And Basic Programming?”.
